转录因子SOX-18是SOX（SRY相关HMG-box）转录因子家族的成员，参与调节胚胎发育和决定细胞命运。编码的蛋白与其他蛋白形成蛋白复合物后可作为转录调节因子。该蛋白在毛发、血管和淋巴管的发育中起作用。Greenfield等人（1996）描述了小鼠Sox基因家族的一个新成员Sox18，它在成年肺和心肌及骨骼肌中转录。他们报告说，Sox18蛋白在体外与AACAAAG序列结合，它能够转导基因表达。Pennisi等人（2000）发现Sox18在小鼠胚胎发育中的血管内皮和毛囊中表达。

Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
